When you give, it shall come back to you, pressed down shaken together and running over. For when you give you give to the Lord. This is a very famous song. But it is easier sung than practiced out. God requires us to give ten percent of whatever we earn to him. To his house. This is called tithing. This makes sure that the whole amount is blessed. It is an order.

 In malachi3:10 God tells us that when we obey him in tithing, we can test him. If he will not open up the windows of heaven and pour up a blessing we will not have room to receive.

He further says that he will rebuke the devourer on our behalf. I think this is a very powerful reassurance from God. Its not every day you get the Almighty asking you to test him. So why don't you take the opportunity.

 It has to work for God is faithful and trustworthy. He keeps his word. God wants to make sure that he still takes the front sit in our lives. Tithing is a way to reassure him that what he has blessed us with does not take his place in our lives.

On a personal note, I have found out that my life is much better now that I tithe than when I never used to. There is a security that comes with tithing, that no matter how bad things might be now, they will always end up better. You can never become hopeless and lack a way out when you tithe. Your finances grow slowly but surely when you tithe.
